Church and State after the War in Armenia
A Sion College lunchtime seminar with Harut Harutyunyan - on Zoom
Tuesday 16th March 2021: 12:30 for 12:45pm
Harut Harutyunyan, a Lecturer in Religion and Politics at the American University of Armenia will examine, from an Armenian perspective, the challenges faced by the Church in Armenia during the recent conflict with Azerbaijan, and will reflect on lessons to be learned by Churches caught up in national conflicts.
Since the Sion College visit to Armenia in 2019, when the group met Harut, the College has sought to maintain links with the country.
All proceeds from attendance at this lunchtime seminar will be donated to Cross of Armenian Unity (CAU) an Armenian charitable NGO visited in 2019 by the Sion College group. CAU runs educational, cultural, and social outreach programmes supporting children and their families.
Please note the timing of this event – at lunchtime.
