A Sion College Seminar Reception with Graham Tomlin: Faith that Frees: Luther’s Vision of the Spiritual Life

Martin Luther’s understanding of the Christian life and how it is lived proved revolutionary in sixteenth century Europe. In this session, we will explore why so many people at the time were drawn to it, why it led to profound changes in the medieval Catholic Church and what it can offer Christians today as they seek to live lives of faith and freedom.

Our speaker at this event is Bishop Graham Tomlin, Director of the Centre for Cultural Witness and Editor-in-Chief of its digital magazine project, Seen & Unseen, and former Bishop of Kensington. Graham is President of St Mellitus College and was previously Vice Principal of Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, where he taught within the Theology Faculty of Oxford University on Historical Theology, specialising in the Reformation period.
