Tuesday 25th March, 7 for 7:30pm
Old Queen Street Café, 6 Old Queen Street, London SW1H 9HP
The relationship between the law and religion has received progressively more attention in this country in recent years. This has been particularly marked in the area of human rights now that the Human Rights Act 1998 has translated the rights contained in the European Convention on Human Rights into rights in UK law.
The ways in which the law has approached the balance to be struck between freedom of religion and belief and the other rights in the Convention will be explored in this seminar by Lady Hale of Richmond from her vantage point of a long and most distinguished judicial and academic career and as a past President of the UK Supreme Court.
